Guess what... I'm a multiple champion in paintball of my province...

For the first pic, it's too far to crouch behind a tree like that, especially with that paintball gun... There's no one at the right and the ground is going up... The advantage is for them... You're not gonna easily hit someone like that (or you're not gonna get in a good quality combat zone unless you guys make a noob gun fighting, wasting plenty paintballs going right, left, down, -depending on the wind when you shoot from too far- I know that gun has good accuracy though but still, in that range, don't crouch there). It's not really good to be too passive in paintball games... Gotta move, move, try to infiltrate the enemy zone and kill them all from behind... When you come from behind, you hide behind objects not to let the other team see your team color (the band around your arm)... But in certain tournament, we have to simply be dressed differently so there's no team color to hide and it's easier for the enemy to identify if you're in their team or not.
And one more thing... You gotta be aggressive and have no mercy at all... Sometimes you have to go into gangster mode, when you fire 3 paintballs or more on one guy... He's gonna feel the pain and leave the game immediately (he's gonna have a lot of sores too). In a friendly game, I tend to give less pain and fire less shots. I'd come as close as possible and surprise the person by saying "freeze"... or just fire in the mask (glass area!!! not mouth area)... Mouth area is when I really hate the person as he's gonna have a lot of paint juice in his mouth... and I fire on his head, neck, etc... Sadly no rifle-butt allowed...

Good strategy play? The SOCOM way in paintball is not bad at all.

That's cool Lids - the last time I went paintballing was for a friend's stag party. I talked myself up because I thought UT'd give me an advantage, he heh. It's all good fun until you get shot in the back of the head. Repeatedly.

At the end, to use up the unspent ammunition, we organised a big free-for-all. For the first five minutes I crouched quietly in a ditch, letting people pick each-other off, but that got old! I opted for a less subtle tactic - a Braveheart style war cry and charge towards the nearest combatants. It was a bad idea, I was covered in bruises for days. Fun though

In free-for-all, you'd better camp... You never know who's coming at you... haha... They're looking for someone to show up, then they wait a little more for that person to get busy aiming or shooting at someone, then they shoot that person... and then another person comes out of nowhere and shoots that person... It's like "the most patient person wins"... The one who waits for the best and last opportunity...

But most tournament is like, let's say, "team deathmatch"... So that's when you can play more aggressive than in free-for-all... That's what I play the most.

Me too, at the beggining, I thought UT would help us to be so good in paintball, being able to move fast and dodge everything, but no... To keep dodging UT style in the whole paintball game is tiring HAHAHA...
I'd say, it should be like "Rainbow six"... Well, Swat guys are more advantaged... They know how to ambush...

I don't use those protections... Only as a very beginner maybe... People who use it are almost cheaters because sometimes they don't feel they got shot so they stay in game... unless the referees/judges/staffs spot it... Not recommended... There may be a punishment such as "If you cheat, we'll have to shoot you a lot"... Then you gotta get ready for some pain...
